HONOLULU– When Stacey Katakura decided to leave her job as president of HiAccounting and start her own full-service accounting firm, she was fully cognizant where Hawaii stood in the annual national rankings in regards to toughest places to start and operate a small...Veronica was born and raised in Vietnam. She now resides in Hawaii and is a graduate of the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Before joining Accumulus, Veronica worked as an administrator, bookkeeper, and tax preparer for a few local firms.
In her free time, she enjoys paddling, yoga, painting, shopping, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures.
Prior to joining Accumulus, Isaac spent 5 years in corporate accounting and 3 years in the tax department with a local public accounting firm, focusing on corporate and international taxation.
Isaac holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on accounting from UH West Oahu and is currently pursuing his CPA license. During his free time, Isaac enjoys spending time with family & friends.
Prior to joining the Accumulus team DeAngela was a personal banker for a national financial institution and accountant for a local property management company, where she over saw the day to day accounting operations of a portfolio of clients .
DeAngela holds a BS in Accounting and plans to pursue a CPA license in the near future.
A military spouse and mother of four daughters , DeAngela enjoys family activities that include shopping and exploring. When not occupied by her family, she decompresses by reading and having solo spa dates.
Ellie joined joined Accumulus in 2018 and is responsible for all aspects of the accounting function leading up to the timely and accurate closing of client’s books and records. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting & Human Resources Management from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and has years of experience in corporate and outsourced accounting.
Ellie was born in China and moved to Hawaii at a young age. She travels to China often to visit family and for short vacations. In her free time, Ellie enjoys watching movies, shopping, finding fun activities for her two daughters, and spending time with her husband and family.
Melanie is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Hawaii with over 20 years of accounting and finance experience. Melanie is a graduate of Pearl City High School and holds a BA degree (Accounting major) from Seattle University. Her career began in public accounting with a large national CPA firm. Audit and client accounting service experiences were broadened with the move to commercial banking. As a commercial credit trained relationship manager, Melanie leveraged her accounting and financial analysis skills in partnering with middle market local businesses to help them achieve their goals.
A wife and mother of two daughters, Melanie’s time is full of family activities. She has been an active room parent volunteer and enjoys watching her daughters’ sports, music, and dance activities. Melanie balances her busy schedule with quiet time spent reading, plant shopping, and ikebana.

As President and Founder of Accumulus, Stacey Katakura brings an unmatched level of accounting and financial advisory experience—having previously served for three years as President of HiAccounting, a division of The Hawaii Group, and for ten years prior to that as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Forest City Hawaii, a real-estate development and property management company responsible for over $2 billion in Hawaii real-estate and renewable energy projects.
Stacey is a licensed CPA in Hawaii and California, is a graduate Kaiser High School, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern California’s Kenneth Leventhal School of Accounting. Stacey began her career in the Orange County, California offices of Ernst & Young, in the firm’s Real Estate, Hospitality & Construction group.
Stacey is also very involved in supporting local community organizations and has served as Co-Chair of American Heart Association’s annual Black Tie & Blue Jeans fundraiser gala, Vice Chair for the Child and Family Services annual fundraiser gala, is the Past Chair of the Hawaii Home Ownership Center’s Board of Directors. She is currently on the board of directors for the Women’s Fund of Hawaii. She has also volunteered on numerous political campaigns and was named one of Pacific Business News’ Forty Under 40. Stacey is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Hawaii Society of CPA’s.
In her free time, Stacey enjoys spending time with her pug, Bogey, hiking, yoga, pilates, traveling & drinking fine wine.
Dayna joined Accumulus in September of 2017 and is responsible for new technology recommendations, implementation & oversight, service platforms and overall the client, employee and best practices of the firm.
Dayna was previously the Vice President of Client Services for Hawaii Human Resources, a PEO organization, where she led the implementation, client service and branch services teams for a portfolio of over 700 clients. For 14 years prior to that, Dayna worked as a key member of executive team to lead operations and training for the area developers that built the Starbucks and Jamba Juice brands here in Hawaii
In the past, Dayna has supported, such causes as the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Juvenile Diabetes and the Hawaii 5210 program.In her free time, Dayna enjoys spending time her son, lifting weights, paddleboarding and trying new recipes.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.
With a broad range of managerial and accounting experience, Ricky joined the Accumulus team as the Accounting Manager in May 2019. Ricky supervises the accounting team’s efforts in building and maintaining positive client relationships while also progressing the team in its own development and growth.
Ricky holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with over 8 years of corporate accounting and management experience in the Healthcare, Banking, and Finance industries. Born and raised in Chicago, he also brings a wealth of leadership experience from serving on the executive team of several community organizations including his time as VP of External Affairs with the International Society of Filipinos in Finance and Accounting (ISFFA Chicago Chapter).
Jamey joined Accumulus in 2019.Prior to joining, Jamey spent two years the audit department of a local public accounting firm, with a focus in Hawaii’s main industries: insurance, NFPs and government agencies.
Jamey holds a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from the School of Management at the University of San Francisco, and is currently pursuing a CPA license. Born and raised on Oahu, Jamey enjoys shopping, traveling, photography, hiking, going to the beach, or any outdoor activity.
Marissa joined Accumulus in 2019. Prior to joining Accumulus, she was a consultant at a construction accounting company, where she managed a portfolio of 6-7 clients, which consisted of her assisting companies with their AP/AR billings, running weekly payroll, and producing financials and WIPs. Marissa also worked at a local bank and participated in their management trainee program. She graduated from Seattle University with a degree in Finance.
In her free time Marissa is usually on the hunt for new happy hour places and cute coffee shops.
Bogey graduated with honors from the Canine State University with his Bachelors Degree in treat eating. In his spare time, you can find Bogey volunteering with the Hawaii Puglife Foundation where he helps other pugs learn how to keep their wrinkles clean and teaches them the art of begging for treats. He most especially enjoys dressing up as Santa Paws each year at the Pupcakes annual gala.
Kelly joined Accumulus in April 2017 and is the director of operations. She is responsible for the day-to-day activities and assists in developing strategies to improve and standardize all aspects of the company.
She was previously an executive assistant with HiAccounting, supporting its president and other senior executives.
Born and raised in Honolulu, Kelly spends her free time with her children, and enjoys hiking, cooking and practicing yoga.
