HONOLULU– When Stacey Katakura decided to leave her job as president of HiAccounting and start her own full-service accounting firm, she was fully cognizant where Hawaii stood in the annual national rankings in regards to toughest places to start and operate a small...Colleen joined the Accumulus team in 2022, bringing her experience in accounting and auditing procedures previously working at a CPA firm. She is well-rounded in general accounting responsibilities such as tax preparation, SEC filing, monthly closing, and bank reconciliations.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Colleen enjoys reading books, cleaning and organizing, and playing word games to stay sharp in her free time.
Kim Saragena joined Accumulus in 2023. Her accounting expertise is from her experience at a CPA firm and various non-profit organizations since 2006.
She earned both her Bachelor of Business Administration and Associate of Applied Science in Accounting from University of Phoenix and Heald College, respectively. Kim enjoys spending time with her daughter, working out, and watching movies and tv shows in her free time..
Goldee Joined the Accumulus team in 2023, bringing her experience in accounting in various roles since 2004. She is well-rounded in general accounting responsibilities such as tax preparation, SEC filing, monthly closing and bank reconciliations.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting as well as Associate Degree in Business Administration. Goldee enjoys international travel, singing, dancing, and is an avid reader.
Julie joined the Accumulus team in 2023, bringing her 15 years of experience in various accounting roles in the hospitality, real estate, non-profit and business consultant industries. Having found her niche in client advisory and accounting services, she enjoys helping clients make strategic, data-driven financial decisions by delivering consistent, timely and accurate reporting.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and is currently pursuing her CPA license. In her free time, Julie enjoys practicing Pilates and beach days with her family.
Fanny joined Accumulus in 2022 as an associate who is excited about serving our clients’ accounting needs. She has 8 years of accounting experience in the automotive and interior design industries. In her time with her previous employers, she developed and implemented process efficiencies to improve reporting accuracy and reduce operational costs.
She is a graduate of the University of Hawai’i at Manoa Shidler College of Business, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Accounting. Fanny enjoys body boarding and traveling in her free time.
April brings to our firm 19 years of expertise in accounting skills in the healthcare, financial, and manufacturing industries. She also served in various accounting and financial roles with experience in budgeting, taxes, and financial statement analysis. April began her career at the public accounting firm KPMG after she earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also loves grocery shopping, reading, and watching Korean dramas and Vlogs.
Roxane brings 7 years of accounting expertise in both retail and outsourced accounting fields. She has experience in various accounting software, working in accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, taxes, and special projects.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. In her free time, Roxane loves to watch Korean shows, eat at tasty restaurants, and go for long walks for peace of mind.
Ricky joined the Accumulus team as the Accounting Manager in May 2019. Ricky supervises the accounting team’s efforts in building and maintaining positive client relationships while also progressing the team in its own development and growth.
Ricky earned his Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Robert Morris University in Illinois and is currently a candidate for his Master of Science in Accounting from Keller Graduate School in Illinois. He has a broad range of managerial and accounting experience with over 8 years of corporate accounting and management experience in the Healthcare, Banking, and Finance industries in Illinois and California.
Ricky was born and raised in Chicago. He brings a wealth of leadership experience from serving on the executive team of several community organizations including his time as VP of External Affairs with the International Society of Filipinos in Finance and Accounting (ISFFA Chicago Chapter).
Ellie joined Accumulus in 2018. She is responsible for all aspects of accounting functions to ensure the timely and accurate closing of client’s books and records. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting & Human Resources Management from the University of Hawaii, at Manoa and has years of experience in corporate and outsourced accounting.
Ellie was born in China and moved to Hawaii at a young age. She often spends her vacations in China to visit family. In her free time, Ellie enjoys watching movies, shopping, finding fun activities for her two daughters, and spending time with her husband and family.
Bogey wears many hats since the inception of the firm. When he’s not busy advising his clients on building the best furnancial portfolio to fit their needs, he serves as our office greeter by cheerfully greeting everyone who enters the office with his wagging tail and smiling face, and ensures that no food is left behind.
Bogey graduated with honors from the Canine State University with his Barkelors Degree in Treat Eating. In his spare time, Bogey volunteers with the Hawaii Puglife Foundation where he teaches fellow pugs how to keep their wrinkles clean and the art of begging for treats. He especially enjoys dressing up as Santa Paws each year at the Pupcakes annual gala.
Johanna is responsible for the firm’s administrative operations. She joined the team in 2022 after 35 years in banking. She spent 16 years in San Francisco and Los Angeles working in the public finance industry administering trusteeships for municipalities, healthcare, education, utility and multi-family housing projects in California and Hawaii. She held a variety of positions in Honolulu for 19 years where she began her public finance work.
Johanna earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Managerial Economics with a minor in Music from the University of California at Davis, and her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in International Business from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. She currently serves as a Shidler College of Business Alumni Ambassador and a University of Hawai‘i Foundation Alumni Association volunteer. She also volunteers for the Waikiki Community Center’s Finance Committee, Hawaii Bicycling League, and faith-based organizations. She likes to spend her free time with family and friends, traveling, cycling, and playing flute.
Brandon joined Accumulus as its President in 2022. He brings over 15 years of senior financial leadership in accounting, finance, and financial planning and analysis in various roles in the distribution, airline, hospitality, and non-profit sectors. Brandon’s expertise lends itself to his leadership in the day-to-day operations of the firm. He began his career at KPMG LLP Honolulu in public accounting and has previously worked for Outrigger Hotels & Resorts, Hawaiian Airlines, and most recently for Webco Hawaii Inc. as Chief Financial Officer. As a licensed CPA, he is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Hawai’i Society of CPAs, volunteers his time as Treasurer of the Nu’uanu Streamside Board of Directors, and previously as Treasurer of the Outrigger Hotels Hawai’i Political Action Committee.
Brandon earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting with Magna Cum Laude distinction from Loyola Marymount University and is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools. In Brandon’s free time, he enjoys spending time with his kids, as well as spending time outdoors whether it be in a family surfing session, hiking, traveling, or just relaxing with family and friends.
Michelle brings 10 years of accounting experience in the manufacturing and automotive industries. She has worked in the areas of budgeting and forecasting, tax, cash management, statutory compliance, and financial statement analysis.
In her free time, Michelle enjoys watching TV, playing with her dogs, and spending quality time with her family.
Jamey joined Accumulus in 2019 and is currently a Senior Associate. Prior to joining the Company, Jamey spent two years in the audit department of a local public accounting firm, with a focus in the insurance industry, non-profit organizations, and government agencies.
Jamey earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the School of Management at the University of San Francisco, and is currently pursuing a CPA license. She was born and raised on Oahu and in her free time enjoys shopping, traveling, photography, hiking, going to the beach, or any outdoor activity.
As CEO and Founder of Accumulus, Stacey Katakura brings an unmatched level of accounting and financial advisory experience—having previously served for three years as President of HiAccounting, a division of The Hawaii Group, and for ten years prior to that as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Forest City Hawaii, a real-estate development and property management company responsible for over $2 billion in Hawaii real-estate and renewable energy projects.
Stacey is a licensed CPA in Hawaii and California, is a graduate of Kaiser High School, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern California’s Kenneth Leventhal School of Accounting. Stacey began her career in the Orange County, California offices of Ernst & Young, in the firm’s Real Estate, Hospitality & Construction group.
Stacey actively supports local community organizations and is currently on the board of directors for the YWCA and the Women’s Fund of Hawaii. She volunteers on numerous political campaigns and was named one of Pacific Business News’ Forty Under 40. Stacey is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Hawaii Society of CPA’s.
In her free time, Stacey enjoys spending time with Bogey her pug, hiking, yoga, pilates and traveling.
Veronica was born and raised in Vietnam. She now resides in Hawaii and is a graduate of the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Before joining Accumulus, Veronica worked as an administrator, bookkeeper, and tax preparer for a few local firms.
In her free time, she enjoys paddling, yoga, painting, shopping, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures.
Prior to joining Accumulus, Isaac spent 5 years in corporate accounting and 3 years in the tax department with a local public accounting firm, focusing on corporate and international taxation.
Isaac holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on accounting from UH West Oahu and is currently pursuing his CPA license. During his free time, Isaac enjoys spending time with family & friends.
Prior to joining the Accumulus team DeAngela was a personal banker for a national financial institution and accountant for a local property management company, where she over saw the day to day accounting operations of a portfolio of clients .
DeAngela holds a BS in Accounting and plans to pursue a CPA license in the near future.
A military spouse and mother of four daughters , DeAngela enjoys family activities that include shopping and exploring. When not occupied by her family, she decompresses by reading and having solo spa dates.
Melanie is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Hawaii with over 20 years of accounting and finance experience. Melanie is a graduate of Pearl City High School and holds a BA degree (Accounting major) from Seattle University. Her career began in public accounting with a large national CPA firm. Audit and client accounting service experiences were broadened with the move to commercial banking. As a commercial credit trained relationship manager, Melanie leveraged her accounting and financial analysis skills in partnering with middle market local businesses to help them achieve their goals.
A wife and mother of two daughters, Melanie’s time is full of family activities. She has been an active room parent volunteer and enjoys watching her daughters’ sports, music, and dance activities. Melanie balances her busy schedule with quiet time spent reading, plant shopping, and ikebana.

Dayna joined Accumulus in September of 2017 and is responsible for new technology recommendations, implementation & oversight, service platforms and overall the client, employee and best practices of the firm.
Dayna was previously the Vice President of Client Services for Hawaii Human Resources, a PEO organization, where she led the implementation, client service and branch services teams for a portfolio of over 700 clients. For 14 years prior to that, Dayna worked as a key member of executive team to lead operations and training for the area developers that built the Starbucks and Jamba Juice brands here in Hawaii
In the past, Dayna has supported, such causes as the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Juvenile Diabetes and the Hawaii 5210 program.In her free time, Dayna enjoys spending time her son, lifting weights, paddleboarding and trying new recipes.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.
Marissa joined Accumulus in 2019. Prior to joining Accumulus, she was a consultant at a construction accounting company, where she managed a portfolio of 6-7 clients, which consisted of her assisting companies with their AP/AR billings, running weekly payroll, and producing financials and WIPs. Marissa also worked at a local bank and participated in their management trainee program. She graduated from Seattle University with a degree in Finance.
In her free time Marissa is usually on the hunt for new happy hour places and cute coffee shops.
Kelly joined Accumulus in April 2017 and is the director of operations. She is responsible for the day-to-day activities and assists in developing strategies to improve and standardize all aspects of the company.
She was previously an executive assistant with HiAccounting, supporting its president and other senior executives.
Born and raised in Honolulu, Kelly spends her free time with her children, and enjoys hiking, cooking and practicing yoga.
